Care and Dignity Foundation (CDF) is a trans-led and focused group working since 2018 to promote and accelerate the equal rights of trans women in rural Nigeria.

The group was founded by four passionate young trans-women who have had a fair share of dealing with multiple discrimination and transphobia as a result of their sexuality and gender identity.

The aim was to provide young trans women with an opportunity to be visible and with the capacity to deal with the increasingly difficult experiences that they endure as a result of their sexuality and gender identity, especially in rural communities within the state.

Also, CDF exists to bridge the gap within the trans movement in Nigeria with a core focus on providing safe spaces and to support the mental health and overall well-being of indigenous young trans women within the communities that we work.

Mission:
To work towards achieving a society where trans persons are heard, understood, respected and their human rights recognized regardless of their sexuality and gender identity.

Vision:
To see a world where the rights of all persons are recognized and respected regardless of their gender identity, or sexuality.
